Don't Be A Self-Handicapper

The "Self-Handicapper":
He who willingly sacrifices a probable moderate outcome [i.e. being perceived as "good" at something] for a chance at a much more positive outcome (i.e. having exceptional potential].
The Self-Handicapper is that person who seems to always highlight some uncontrollable variable that might make it possible for the outcome to be perceived as "not their fault".
If successful—they are incredible for overcoming the situation. If unsuccessful—it wasn't their fault.
The problem is—Mr. Self-Handicapper—we all see right through it.
Own it and go for it.

What this says to me:
 Saying it simply, in the least amount of words, delivers the biggest impact.

Personal Branding

If you are not taking time to work on personal branding, you are losing.
Personal branding is no longer an option, it's mandatory. And it has no regard for your industry, your goals, or your focuses.
It doesn't matter who you are or what you do, someone, somewhere does exactly what you do, or exactly what you want to do, and they are branding themselves.
Do you want to lose to them, when the time comes? Doubt it.
Get started.

Who else doesn't know what to read next?

This might be useful. Personally, I have this problem—never know what to read next.
I end up on amazon and google, searching for lists people have made with books similar to the ones I'm reading.
Then I find books that might work, and have to read the table of contents or reviews and try to assess whether I'm going to like it.
Next thing I know I've lost an hour. BORING.
