"You don't learn to walk by following rules. You learn by doing and falling over."
-Branson
That's me. I mean the quote; I'm not Richard Branson. I'm Gary Peeples; and I fall over until I figure it out.
I've been in strategic marketing and business development for over 15 years.
During this time, I've developed an uncommon ability to understand people, personalities and social dynamics.
That's what makes me different.
I leverage this extraordinary knowledge and expertise to create meaningful work that connects with people and translates into material sales growth and profitability.
Some of my accomplishments:
− Created a $2M+ annual global licensing business for Olympic Champion Michael Phelps
− Co-led the launch and growth of the Coke Zero brand business for The Coca-Cola Company
− Created and led a cutting edge award-winning ecommerce business for Black & Decker
Half of my career has been focused on integrating marketing: online, offline, social and content marketing. The other half has been focused on developing and operating businesses.
All of it has been focused on thinking like an entrepreneur, creating something that wasn't there, globalizing and failing forward.
Personally, I’m a runner, triathlete and musician, but not at the same time—the audience logistics would probably never work.
I have done 5 marathons, a 140.6 mile Ironman, and I am in an acoustic duo called "Live Rehearsal".
We primarily write sequels to songs because we try to guess what happened next. For example, they ended up checking out of Hotel California just by paying. It was super easy. And then they wrote reviews online.
I’ve fronted 3 bands as guitarist & singer, all pretty big [in small geographies].
I once started a DJ entertainment business and ended up not sleeping for 2 years straight; I was awake for like, 17,520 straight hours.
I show the world how creative I am by wearing tee shirts with witty sayings like: “I listen to bands that don’t even exist yet”. I love sarcasm & movie quotes.
I’m passionate about working hard and having a good time, but my favorite thing to do is say stuff and eat things. And be vague. One time I was as vague as this other thing.
It is because of my personal interests that I am a creative, passionate, relentless, and dedicated person.
Anyone who knows me will tell you, I'm working on something you haven't even thought of yet. It always comes together.
Anything is possible and there is no such thing as failure, if you never stop trying. Out work everyone; you'll win.
I play with words and ideas and can seem out there, but I deliver. The results speak for themselves.
